Jaskirat Sodhi, PhD joined the MIE department at NJIT as a University Lecturer in Fall 2014. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Professor at Lake Superior State University. He received his bachelor´s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Panjab University, India. Jaskirat is a proud NJIT alumni, where he did his PhD in Mechanical Engineering graduating in 2011. His research interests are in the field of Non-Linear Mechanics and Constitutive Modeling. His expertise is the areas of Computer Aided Design and Finite Element Analysis. 

Jaskirat received the Presidential Leadership award while he was a graduate student at NJIT.He is a member of Tau Beta Pi (National Engineering Honor Society), Alpha Epsilon Lambda (National Graduate Honor Society) and Omicron Delta Kappa (National Leadership Honor Society).
