A team of four Industrial Engineering Ph.D. students accompanied by faculty members Profs. Sanchoy Das and Wenbo Selina Cai from the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering, participated in 2015 INFORMS Annual Meeting. Held in Philadelphia from Nov 1 to 4, INFORMS is the premier international conference in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, and there were 5,000 plus attendees this year. Each of the students presented their research work: Sevilay Onal (Order picking in internet fulfillment centers); Babak Hoseini (Scheduling of primary care services); Sharareh Dehkordi (Capacity optimization of 3D printing); and Jingran Zhang (Optimization of fast fashion supply chains). Prof. Cai also presented a paper on her ongoing NSF funded research project on “Deoptimial Contract Designs for Carbon Capture and Storage Systems”.
