Who is my advisor?

The advisor for all students are Mrs. Faneza Hoossain-Ally and Gina D’Angelo and Dr. Athanassios Bladikas for IE students.  

How many credits are required to graduate with BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering ?

Students majoring in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering must complete a minimum of 120 credits.

What is the best time to meet with my advisor for advisement?

Follow the advisement period timeline and see your advisor during your appointed time.  This is as follows:

    Appointed Advisement period for Fall Semesters:

•      Your advisement period starts the 3rd week in February and end one week before registration. ALL HOLDS WILL BE REMOVED.

Appointed Advisement period for Spring Semesters: 

• Your advisement period starts the 3rd week in September and ends  one week before registration. ALL HOLDS WILL BE REMOVED.

What are the office hours of MIE department?

Office hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Summer Hours are Monday to Thursday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.

What classes am I supposed to take for next semester?

During the advising period, your updated curriculum sheets will be emailed which shows completed courses and the advising courses for the subsequent semester.

How many credits are required to do the minor?

A number of minors are available at NJIT. More information can be found at http://www.njit.edu/registrar.  Please work with the specific minor advisor to make sure all declared minor requirements are met.

Where do I register for my classes?

Follow advising procedure and registration is performed online at Highlander Pipeline, at http://my.njit.edu.

How do I join the BS/MS program?

The eligibility for joining BS/MS program is junior standing with cumulative GPA 3.0.  https://www.njit.edu/dual-degree-programs
